What is APET materials?

APET (Amorphous-polyethylene terephthalate) is a thermal plastic and part of the polyester product family. It is better known as APET, suited to flat applications.

It has 2 product formats: Apet film, Apet sheet, with 1 side or 2 sides protection film.

What is the difference between APET and PET?

There is no difference between PET and APET plastic. PET is polyester. It has the chemical name of polyethylene terephthalate. PET can be made with the polymers aligned in two primary ways; amorphous or crystalline.

Actually, all you come in contact with is amorphous with one major exception. Microwave food trays, if made from PET, are made from C-PET (crystallized PET).

All-clear PET including Mylar and water bottles are made from A-PET (amorphous PET).In many cases, the “A” is simply left off.
